How to  measure

When measuring your size, this drawing might help you to measure correctly.

Have somebody to help you to take your measurements, this is hard to do yourself for you have to stand straight to get a correct measurement. Use a good measuring tape, very old ones might be stretched or shrunk. Stand straight, and hold your posture naturally. Do not pull the measuring tape to tight.

Chest: the widest point around the bust.

Waist: the narrowest point around the waist, two or three inches above the navel, just below the ribs.

when measuring for trousers, make sure not to measure too loose. Pull the tape measure slightly so that is feels comfortable. Or use a belt and close it as you would normally, and measure the belt.

when measuring for a waistcoat don't pull it, just let it lay flat. A waistcoat should have 2 cm extra; it should be fitted but not pulling

when measuring for a jacket look at the body measurements in the size chart. This jacket was made with room to move and extra allowance in the sizing so it can easily be worn over a jumper.

Hips: the widest point around the hips.

Inside leg: from the crotch to the anckle

Outside leg: leave the belt or string where you measured the waist and measure from there down to the anckle

Still some question? Please do ask, I will be glad to help.
