1930s 1940s trousers natural linen beige extreme high waist
These vintage style high waist linen pants with fishtail back are made after an original early 1940's pattern. They have an extreme high waist, fishtail back end pleated front. The fabric is 100% linen with a weight of 360 grams/m2. The trousers have generous side pockets, two back pockets with double welts and a button and strap closure, and a small change pocket in front also with button and strap closure. There are buttons on the inside of the waistband to wear them with braces or suspenders. The fishtail back is a nice feature, it has an adjustment strap at the back where you can make them a bit tighter, or loosen after a nice dinner.

Find your size in the size chart, the sizes are measurements of the waist in inches. The table shows the cm measurements next to them. When measuring the waist, make sure you measure high enough, just below the ribs is the right place. Take a tape measure or cord and pull it tight enough that it is comfortable. Or use a belt that you fasten to the right size and measure that to find the right size.
care: Main fabric 100% linen, pockets 100% cotton. Machine wash cold with mild detergent with similar colours, leave to dry, do not bleach, iron medium heat. Before drying best pull it back into shape first, don't forget the pockets. It also helps to use a wash softener to keep the fibers soft.
Note: I tested the fabric for shrinkage. It was pre-shrunk and I noticed no difference when washing on 30 degrees celcius, and no difference on 40 degrees either. However linen is a natural fiber and may react differently in your own machine, other detergent, hardness of water etc. Therefore my advise is to shorten them after washing them first, and always leave enough fabric to lengthen them if necessary.
